Obituary of Clara Rosa Riley

Clara passed away peacefully on Friday, October 15, 2021. She was born April 3, 1926 at Serath, SK and was raised on the family farm. She is predeceased by her husband Charlie; parents Max and Katherine Heller; and siblings Tony, Mary, Max, Walter and Hedy. Clara is survived by her brother Oscar Heller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clara graduated from the Grey Nuns Nursing Program as an RN and shortly after graduation, moved to California to start her new adventures. She shared her passion for nursing between Regina and California until she retired at the age of 70. Clara found her niche in the operating room. Her last surgery was 16 hours just before she retired. Clara stayed active walking and dog-sitting for her friends and doctor friends.

Clara moved back to the family farm with her brother Oscar in 2020 and finally had her own dog to care for and love every day. Even though visually impaired, she took over the household tasks. Once a frozen cake was mistakenly heated and served as the main course. Clara laughed and said they didn’t complain, they had three helpings! She had her first garden this year and was very pleased with how well her vegetables grew.

Clara loved and spoiled her family and all her canine friends.

Clara, we will miss your humour, spitfire and independence.
