Obituary of Carol Joanne Roberts

Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sadly, on August 12, 2021, we lost our beloved Mother to cancer.  Happily, she is now in the arms of her husband, our father Chuck who passed away in 2014.  They were married for 57 years and were inseparable!  Everyone always thinks they have the best Mother, but we really did.   She was tough when she had to be and loving when we needed her to be. She was our confidante, our advisor and someone who was always there when we just needed a hug and some love.

Mom was born in 1939, in Bengough, Saskatchewan. She grew up on a farm outside of Ogema with her parents and 11 siblings, it was a harsh life, she comes from a hardy bunch, but she had many fond memories of times spent together.  When she was 17, she moved to Moose Jaw for a babysitting job, this is where she met Chuck, he was 12 years her senior but that never stopped them. They were married Friday July 13, 1957.  Who would have thought Friday the 13 would be lucky, but it was for them!  The next May their first son Michael was born soon after came Garnet and finally their daughter Wendy was born to complete their family.  Our father worked for a road construction company and Carol and their two sons followed him around Saskatchewan, When Wendy was born and Michael was 5 years old, they bought a house in Regina where they resided until our mother’s death, a full 57 years in one house.  Oh, the times we had there.  We were very lucky to have two wonderful supportive parents.  They were two of a kind!   While we were growing up our mother stayed home to care for us and what a job she did. We really can’t say enough about her, she was our best friend, and we miss her dearly.   Mom was a hard worker and very seldom idle, you could always find her outside doing yard work and enjoying the sunshine.  She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren more than life itself.

Carol was predeceased by her the love of her life, her husband Chuck, her parents, Ethel and Alonzo, her brothers, Lowell, Dale, Darwin, Bud, and Randy. Her sister in laws, Dorothy, Darleen, Nora, Anne, and Eileen. Also, her dear friend of 60 years, Kay Garside.

Left to mourn her loss are her children, Michael, Garnet (Angie) and Wendy.  Her grandchildren, Alison (Trevor), Nick, Brittany (James) and Jakob (Shanae), her great grandchildren, Logan, Jayden, Keegan and Adilyn.  Also, her sister Glenda (Al) and her brothers Myron, Barry, Bryan, Dwayne, and Terry (Ethel). Her sister in laws Diana, and Laquetta. Her brother-in-law Henry (Milka)

A party will be held next summer to celebrate our mother’s life.

Grief is the last act of love we have to give those we loved.  Where there is great grief there was great love.

Until we meet again Mama, we will love and miss you every day.
