Obituary of Stanislawa Zofia Zygar

ZYGAR, STANISLAWA (STASIA) – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and Babcia on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the age of 73 years. She joins her partner (Cecil Mastel d.2012) whom she loved and missed dearly. Born in Wadowice, Poland and following a visit to Canada, she fell in love with the country and immigrated. Stasia spent her early years staying home and raising her two children Chris and Teresa (Kevin). Her and Cecil loved the social scene and attended many dances over the years with Polkarama on the tv on Saturday nights. After her children were grown, she worked for many years at Dairy Queen in Regina before resigning to care for her grandchildren Tyler, Emma, and Noah. Her children, son-in-law Kevin, dog Snowy, and grandchildren were her pride and joy and there was never a moment she wasn’t worrying, thinking, or asking about them. Her love for the Polish culture and community brought many years of good food, making her favourite blueberry perogies, attending Polish dances, and gathering with her close friends (including many weekends spent with her best friend Angela and family). A private memorial will be held to celebrate Stasia’s life. The family would like to thank the staff at Parkside where Stasia spent the last 2+ years of her life and Paragon Funeral Home for their kindness and support during the most difficult days following her passing.
