Obituary of Arthur Boryski

Please share a memory of Arthur to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The family of Arthur Boryski is saddened to announce his passing on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 83 years of age, peacefully surrounded by his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Frances; children Michelle (Rick) Koshinsky, their children Kelsey and Kirkland; Lisa Boryski and her daughter Megan (Gareth); Janice (MacNab) her children Matthew and Avery, and numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Nellie Boryski.

Art’s love of mechanics began early in his life at his father’s White Rose gas station in Krydor, SK. Working on the family farm honed his knowledge of mechanics, carpentry and farming. These years forged the excellent work ethic he carried throughout his life.

A chance encounter at the Blaine Lake telephone office led Art to Fran and a union that would last 62 years. Frances’ love and encouragement allowed Art to enjoy a successful career at International Harvester in Saskatoon and a promotion to Service Manager after relocating to Regina. Art’s passion for mechanics and driving trucks continued well after his retirement until his passing. Art loved hunting in his early years and taking family camping trips to destinations near and far. These experiences formed the stories he would continue to tell for years to come. His love of food was fueled by Frances’ gourmet cooking and his daughters' excellent baking. Art’s children and grandchildren were his constant source of pride; everyone heard of their accomplishments. One of their most memorable activities with Grandpa was grinding lentils in his antique coffee grinder for bird seed. Lots of time was also spent at the nearest casino. His more recent hobbies included flirting with his nurses and making them laugh.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care provided by Dr. Laursen and the Pasqua Hospital medical staff.

A private service honouring Art’s memory will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Art’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
