Obituary of Genet Desta Zeray

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Genet Desta Zeray on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the age of 57 years. Genet was predeceased by her dad Zeray Desta; mom Amaresh Tsfahanes; and brother Tesfarion Zere. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ephram Dagnew; sister Tsege Zeray; nephews Simon (Freta) and Sami (Tsegereda); brothers in law Futsum, Mussie and Senaiet; best friends Nardos, Tegne, Menges, Asme and Anna; and to many friends to mention not from the Eritrean and Ethiopian community. Genet was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 1963 and moved to Italy when she was 17/18 years old. Eventually making her way to Canada in the late 80’s. A Funeral Mass will at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Holy Family R.C. Parish, 1021 McCarthy Blvd, Regina, SK.
