Obituary of Irena Lubas

Irena was born in Rzeszow, Poland in 1940, where she met the love of her life and married her husband Jozef in 1959. Together they started a beautiful family and had two handsome sons, Grzegorz and Lucjan. She was a strong independent woman who loved her family and enjoyed traveling through Europe.

Irena was passionate about sewing and became a professional sewing teacher. It was important to her that she teach and show others the fundamentals of life, tradition, her history and provide guidance.

She followed her grandpa’s dreams of coming to America but settled with her family in Canada in 1981. Irena continued to help others working in the health care system at the Pasqua Hospital, where she graciously retired in 2001.

Her husband Joze;, two sons Greg (Barbara) and Lucjan (Erica); grandchildren Tommy, Karolina, Izabela and Kristian, and family were the home to her heart. She found happiness in the time she spent with her loved ones creating many wonderful memories. Irena (Mom) will be forever missed and always remembered by her smile, big heart and lasting memories of pure love and happiness.

Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 2275 Atkinson St., Regina, SK. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021 from the same location.
