Our love and prayers to Doug's family. Doug (my cousin) and I shared some wonderful conversations in the last few months. I was so humbled by Doug's amazing attitude and resilience as he knew that he would be "going to be with our Lord." I'm so glad I had the opportunity to share the times we did.
"Gone from our sight, but never our memories. Gone from our touch, but never our hearts."
Praying that in this difficult time, you will be surrounded by God's comforting love in this time of loss.
Love Patty and Jim Maynard

I will miss his wonderful jokes, seeing him visit me at work every week, and being called Gabby as a kid just to bug me. He was such a treat to be around. Until we meet again Doug ❤️

Message of Condolences and Memories from Sharon Bobst
Love and Prayers to Doug's family on his 'Home-Going'! What a journey it has been! What a gift his life was to our son, David; our family; and to so many!
And what a gift these last few weeks have been as I was blessed by several beautiful visits and many messages from Doug as he courageously faced his last life challenge with such courage, peace and faith. His willingness to talk about the fact that this might be the time of his "Home-Going' while still being open to a miracle here was so inspiring. He made it so easy to slip into 'real conversations' - memories, end of life conversations, expressions of mutual love and appreciation. The amazing evidence of that inner softness brought a beautiful portrayal of the transforming work and Presence of Jesus Christ in his life and provided so much closure, making his actual departure so much easier to embrace.
I do love you and miss you,my son, but soon we will be together again. Thank you for giving my love to Mel and David!
Your 'extra' Mom, Sharon

My sincere condolences to the family on Doug’s passing. You are all in my thoughts and prayers!
I have many memories that I will treasure, from the fun times in Craven, “church” on the lake Sunday mornings, breakfast at the beach, the infamous squealing pig tape and so many more hilarious times. Wow – we had a lot of laughs!
Although I will miss him, I rejoice that he is in heaven and free from pain. He is with his buddy Dave now and others that have gone before him, and no doubt they are having a good time!
Goodbyes are not forever,
Goodbyes are not the end,
They simply mean I’ll miss you,
Until we meet again.
Love,
Rhonda

My condolences to the family on Doug’s passing. I am truly blessed and honoured to have had Doug as a friend. His sharp wit, unique humour and “verbal jousting” will be greatly missed at “coffee time” which will never be the same. I will remember Doug forever and I’m sure once this grief passes it will be with a smile on my face. His love and pride of his “girls” and their families was evident and often topic of our many conversations. Gone too soon but glad the suffering has stopped. Rest In Peace my friend.

Doug has been a big part of our lives for a very long time. Conor, Anthony , Nathanael & Joshua remember his boat rides, Goober Jones and many knee crunches. We played dice up at the cabin this weekend and Doug and Linda taught us the game and we enjoyed many together .
He will be greatly missed . Rest In Peace Doug, you fought the good fight. Enjoy Heaven❤️
My love and support to Linda, Chrissy, Lishelle, Lindsey & Cherish , husbands & grandchildren and extended family
Much love
Colleen, Tony and the boys
