Obituary of Anton Joseph Lorenz

Anton “Andy” Lorenz

December 20, 1924 to July 13, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anton Joseph Lorenz after a long battle with Parkinson’s on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at the age of 96.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Rosabella “Bella” of 70 years; daughters Cheryl (Keith) and Shelley (Darryl); grandchildren Brandon (Michelle), Sean, Lisa (Mike) and Mitch (Allie); and great-grandchildren Gabriel, Evangeline, Isabel, Silas and Kolten. He was preceded by his parents Frank and Anastasia Lorenz; sisters Ann Marie, Elizabeth (Boniface), Hannah and Evelyn (Ron)

Andy was born in Vibank, SK where he graduated from Elsas School. He and Bella met at a dance and married two years later in 1950, where they settled on the family farm. When Andy retired he enjoyed playing cards with his friends, watching hockey and baseball (Go Blue Jays!) and keeping up with the news. He was a living encyclopedia, able to answer any question about history and geography. Andy was also a meticulous carpenter, always making sure everything was just right.

At Andy’s request, there will be no funeral service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Regina Lutheran Home.
