Obituary of Stan Meyers

Please share a memory of Stan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Stan was always his own driver going down Life’s Highway. His sense of direction was nonexistent, so he saw a lot of countryside he never planned on. Camping trips across the provinces and USA, antique hunts filled the car so we had to go home to unload, so Dian and Darrell could get the back seat back to sit.

Stan picked Sunday, July 4, 2021 to go out with a big bang just like the firecracker he was. We all will miss his corny humour and sayings. Stan’s favourite was shaking his forefingers and loudly saying “JUST BE GOOD!”

Stan was predeceased by his parents Frank and Myrtle Meyers; brothers-in-law Henry LeBlanc, Vic LeBlanc and Garry Leblanc. Stan is survived by his wife Suzanne of 57 years, celebrated on May 30, 2021; son Dean (Lana) and their children Tiffany, Chris and Shane; son Darrell (Shelley) and their children Tyler, Shane, Tanner (Madison) and their son Dawson; ex-wife Anita Meyers; brother Wendell (Ruby) and their children Mike (Destiny) and their family, and Terry (Loila); brothers-in-law Hector (Lois) and family, Barry (Elaine) LeBlanc and family; special sister-in-law Hilda LeBlanc and family; and special nephew Paul (Cheryl) LeBlanc and family.

Camping was enjoyed, pulling an old soft top tent trailer across the provinces and the USA. Antique collecting was his big past time. Stan spent a lot of hours refinishing his prize pieces of oak furniture. Winter holidays were Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republican and Hawaii.

Stan always had the worst sense of direction and got lost a lot. I am calling on Stan’s guardian angel to still take care of him Knowing Stan, he will be trying out his new angel wings, flying sideways, checking out the countryside instead of straight up to the pearly gates.

Thanks to all the friendships over the years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the old Arborfield Cemetery. Lunch to follow at Zehner Park Hall. In memory of Stan, any act of kindness will be appreciated.
