Obituary of Irene Isabell Myren
Irene Isabell Myren, 92, of Regina, SK passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born on August 27, 1928 on the family farm near Dahinda, SK. She was the 10th child of thirteen born to Rose and Herman Miller.
She married John Edward (Ted) Myren on June 14, 1946 and together they began to build a life farming in the Ogema area and raising three children. She will be deeply missed by their daughter, Carol (Dennis) McLean, grandson Jeff (Billie Jo) Pingert, great-grandchildren Josh (Jess), Kylie (Matt) and Jordan (Crystal), great-great grandson Carter; grandson Jason (Nicole) Pingert, great-grandchildren Myah and Owen; their son, Allan (Judy) Myren, grandchildren James (Michelle) Myren, great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Brianna; Jennifer (Heath) Peterson, great-grandson Parker; Jessica (Derrick) Deringer, great-grandchildren Chelsea and Isla; and their daughter, Sue (Gord) Swarbrick, grandchildren Joey (Shannon), Riley (Gillian), Shane (Stephanie) children Logan and Olivia. Irene is also survived by one younger sister, Faye McCabe; sisters-in-law Dorothy Miller and June McDougal; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Irene lived a very full and vibrant 92 years and was loved by all who knew her. She worked very hard alongside Dad, milking cows, hauling grain, raising chickens, and growing a huge garden as well, until they moved from the farm in 1977 into Ogema, although they continued to help work on the farm with their son Allan and Judy for many years until Dad passed away in 1997, and Mom moved into Regina in the year 2000. Mom was very involved in the Rebekah Lodge, and in the Lutheran Ladies Auxiliary in her church in Ogema. She especially loved gathering for meals with her family, playing cards, as well as loved gardening, the color of fall leaves, and the sound of geese and cranes flying overhead.
She will be remembered as fiercely independent, loving and friendly. She knew and talked to everyone, everywhere she went.
A funeral will be held at a later date, at such time as the family can all gather together.
The family extends sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Regina Lutheran Home for their wonderful care of Mom, (and our family), especially during Mom’s last days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mount Olive Lutheran Church Ladies Auxiliary, 2015 4 Ave N, Regina, SK S4R 0T5.
In Loving Memory
Irene Myren
