Obituary of Ruth Daisy Johnson
Tribute to Ruth Johnson (nee Smith, formerly Polsom)
It is with sad hearts we write to let you know that our Mom passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 in Regina, SK after a courageous battle with cancer. Being the youngest in her family she was predeceased by her parents, four brothers, and four sisters. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Albert Gordon Polsom, and her second husband, James Frederick Johnson. Three grandchildren have also gone on before her.
One of Mom's deepest desires was that she pass on before her children. This she has accomplished. She leaves behind Albert Gordon Polsom Jr., Denis Polsom, Leora Polsom, Bernadette Polsom Kulik (Harold), Les Polsom, Rick Polsom (Paul), and Mark Polsom (Oad). She is also survived by ten grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and one special little boy "Deckster".
Mom spent her last 12 years enjoying friends and activities at the Regina Village where she lived independently in her own condo. We will not mention Mom's friends by name for fear of leaving some of them out, but you know who you are, and as her family, we are grateful for the friendship you cultivated with her. There were two special activities among many that brought Mom purpose and joy. One was knitting bonnets, booties, socks, blankets, and warmers for babies in Haiti which she did until she developed carpal tunnel. The other was being a volunteer floor monitor checking Buddy Cards to make sure people on her floor were okay in the morning. She completed her last tour of duty for the month of February 2021. She definitely will be missed.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be no funeral service. A private, family interment will be held at the Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. However, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Ruth’s memory.
In Loving Memory
Ruth Johnson
