Obituary of Elsie Freida Biesenthal

Please share a memory of Elsie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Elsie Biesenthal was born in Regina, SK to Ernest and Phillipine Buhse on February 8, 1924.  Elsie was predeceased by her loving husband Nick; son Glenn in 1964, and daughter Louise in 1997; Her parents and siblings, Helen Weimer, Bill Buhse, and Anne Thurm; and son in law Don Hutton in 2005.

Elsie is survived by two daughters – Eileen Hutton (Regina) and Linda (Bill) Long (Ilderton, ON).  She dearly loved her grandchildren – Gereith (Torrie) Hutton and Erin Hutton (Scott Fossenier) and her 4 great-grandchildren.  She always offered her very loving best to numerous nieces and nephews.

Elsie lived a very productive life, displaying her many talents. She enjoyed knitting, making toques and scarves, afghans and mitts. She truly enjoyed the role as a loving hostess to many when she baked the best buns and cinnamon rolls, and cabbage rolls beyond compare.  Her grandchildren miss her buns – the thought is truly mouth-watering. Elsie spent many hours in the garden, making pickles, jams and an abundance of freshness to share.  In her spare time, she enjoyed volunteering at the Regina Plains Museum, Government House, and the Lutheran Braille Workers at church.

Elsie Biesenthal (nee Buhse) was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism on July 20, 1924.  On April 10, 1938, she was confirmed in the Christian faith and was fed the life-giving body and blood of Jesus.  She especially loved her Lord and lived her life in true faith.  Elsie Biesenthal went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday June 13, 2021, at the age of 97 years.

A private service will be held on June 18, 2021 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.  To view the live stream of the Service, visit www.youtube.com/ParagonFuneralServices
