Obituary of Jack Melval Creighton

Please share a memory of Jack to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Creighton. He passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at home surrounded by his family, just as he had wanted. He was predeceased by his parents Mel and Mona Creighton. Left to cherish Jack's memory is the love of his life wife Gladys; children Shawn, Shannon Walter (Ross); Calla (Chris) Strain and Boni (David) Randall; grandchildren Erik, Joshua, Kyle and Cassandra; brother Howard (Verna) Creighton and numerous nieces and nephews.  Special mention to niece Jane Herndier who could match Jack tease for tease. Jack was born in 1942 in Arcola and lived in Tyvan and Steelman during his childhood.  In 1962 he was sworn in to the Estevan Police Service and had many stories of his time on the street.  Jack moved to Regina and in 1967 began driving bus for Saskatchewan Transportation Company until he retired in 2002.  Driving for STC brought him many joys including lifelong cherished friends and that one very special passenger travelling on his bus who later became his wife, Gladys.  Jack lived for his family, loved a good BBQ, a stiff rum and coke and a game of cards.  He was a quick wit and had a repertoire of jokes to entertain everyone around him.  He loved to travel and he and Gladys took every advantage to get away on a hot holiday.  Jack fought a long hard battle with cancer and he didn’t stop fighting until he could be home with his family.  The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at the Pasqua Hospital and the Palliative nurses Scott and Julie who came to the house to help with Jack’s care.  A service will be held at a future date. Flowers are gratefully declined however, donations to the Allan Blair Clinic can be made in Jack’s memory.
