Obituary of Lawrence Albert Hoedel

With sadness, the family of Lawrence Albert Hoedel announces his passing on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the age of 97. Dad passed away peacefully at the Campbell Care Home in Regina, SK.  He was predeceased by his wife, Mary, who passed away in 2016 and his son Darrell, in 1973.

Left to mourn are his children, Dennis (Beth) Hoedel, Norma (Martin) Knuth, Debbie (Greg) Miller, Gerry (Robbie) Hoedel, Mervin Hoedel and Lorne Hoedel; grandchildren Tyson (Kayla), Steven (Lindsey), Garrett (Sarah), Alison (Keary), Tannis, Jesse, and Brooklynn; and great-grandchildren Payton, Breann, Lydia, Adeline, Owen and Myles. 

Dad was born and raised on the family farm near Grayson, SK.  He married Mary Ruhr of Dubuc in 1947 and together they worked hard to grow their own farm and family, raising seven children. Mom and dad moved to Regina in 2014 where they lived until their passing.  

The family would like to thank Bahri and the staff at the Campbell Care home for their compassion and care during Dad’s five years there.  According to dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place he will be laid to rest in St Mary’s Parish Cemetery in Grayson.  A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
