Jeanne Kowbel

Obituary of Jeanne Ann Helen Kowbel

Please share a memory of Jeanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jeanne passed away from cancer on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in the Pasqua Hospital in Regina at 73 years of age.

Jeanne was born to Joseph and Helen (Bolen) Mulatz in Gravelbourg, SK.  She grew up on the family farm near Glenbain, attending school in both Glenbain and Gravelbourg.  She shared many precious memories with her brothers and sisters on the farm.  Jeanne moved to Regina where she worked at Medical Arts and later in retail.  In 1972, she married Werner Kowbel in Regina, where they raised two children, Paul and Jered.

Jeanne was a people person who enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards, downhill skiing, their cottage at White Bear Lake, and her favourite Fun in the Sun resort, Royal Decameron in Mexico.   She enjoyed growing flowers as they reminded her of Paradise on Earth.  Jeanne was a very loving and happy person, who had a strong faith and believed in God’s Kingdom.  Her favourite scriptures were Psalms 37:10,11 and 83:18, John 3:16 and Revelation 21:3,4.  Jeanne enjoyed going out in service bringing the word of God to all people.  She brought joy and happiness to the many lives she touched.

Jeanne was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Helen; brothers Wayne, Paul, Jerry and David; and sister Maryanne.   She is survived by her husband, Werner, sons Paul (Michelle) and Jered; grandchildren Emma and Connor; brothers Bernie (Gail) and Robert; sister Linda (Floyd) Johnson; as well as many nieces and nephews.  We look forward to the day when we are reunited with her, as Jesus promised at John 5:28,29 of the Resurrection Hope.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the nurses, especially Kate, and the doctors at the Pasqua Hospital for their compassion and care.  No public funeral will be held.   A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanne’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
