Rick was the favourite grade 12 teacher of both my wife Jacqueline (Gallais) and myself and likely the whole graduating class of 1975-76. He made learning fun and interesting and treated us with kindness and respect. He was ahead of his time in his approach to teaching. We were sad to hear of his passing and we wanted his family to know the positive impact he had on all of us. Attached is a picture of a bearded Rick at a post graduation gathering he held for us.

Sad to hear of Rick's passing. I met Rick back in 1990 when he started farming our land just west of Regina. He was a nice man and it was always a pleasure running into him out at our farm or anywhere else. He will be missed. Condolences to his family and friends.

I considered Rick Roland a good friend. He was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. I met Rick when his son Michell was dating my daughter. A few years later I called Rick when I wanted to see a downtown condo - I made an offer immediately. Rick & I went to a coffee shop to do the paperwork. The sale went through that same evening. Four years later, my life had changed again, and I was ready to buy a townhome. Of course I called Rick again....and so it went. We often ran into one another at music events or pubs. It was always a pleasure. Of course we both loved to talk about our kids & grandchildren. The world lost a wonderful man the day Rick passed. My deepest condolences to the family. I loved your Dad Mitch. Lorraine deMontigny Rick and I went to
