Obituary of Gailene Ann Huck
It is with great sadness that the family of Gailene Ann Huck announces her passing on March 6, 2021 in Regina. Gail was predeceased by her husband Murray Huck; her parents John and Christina Smukowich; and her brother Larry Smukowich. Gail will be lovingly remembered by her children Bob (Kelly) of Calgary, AB, Jacqueline (Jim) of Regina, SK, and Lori (Mike) of Regina, SK; her brother Don (Janet) of Nanoose Bay, BC; her sister Janet Lang of Port Moody, BC; her sister-in-law Barb Smukowich of Winnipeg, MB; four adoring grandchildren, Christie Crosson (Stuart) of Buckhurst Hill, UK, Laura and Murray Huck of Calgary, and Nicole Krupski (Thomas) of Regina; and one great-grandchild Sidney Morley of Buckhurst Hill, UK.
Gail was born and raised in Avonlea, SK. As a youth she was a strong athlete and an accomplished pianist. In 1956, she married Murray Huck, a teacher in Avonlea. Over the following five decades they followed Murray's Education career, raising their three children. A yearly highlight for Gail and Murray was their annual summer trip to Lake Tahoe with Gail's brother Larry's family. Gail had a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit that provided her with much success as she travelled the province interviewing citizens on behalf of Stats Canada. Upon Murray's retirement as an Education Director, Gail and Murray retired in Regina in 1997, where Gail resided until her passing. Gail was proud of her grandchildren's accomplishments and travelled widely to watch Christie and Nicole in dance competitions, Laura and Murray in athletic competitions.
Gail will be interred alongside Murray at Riverside Memorial Park in Regina in a private, family service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gail's memory to the Kidney Foundation
In Loving Memory
