Lorraine Algera

Obituary of Lorraine Marie Charlotte Algera

Please share a memory of Lorraine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts and tremendous sadness that we announce our dear Lorraine has passed away. Finally she is at peace after an extended illness.

Lorraine was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1959 and as a child moved to Arizona with her family and later on to Regina, Saskatchewan where her father played for the Roughriders. Lorraine married her high school sweetheart and they raised their daughter Jennifer together. As a family they went on many wonderful road trips to Banff, Tofino, Denver and Arizona. They later relocated to Vancouver following her parents.

Lorraine worked in media for 30 years beginning at the University of Regina, the last 20 years at Simon Fraser University as Manager of Media Services. After the passing of her husband Glenn she moved back to Regina where she struggled with health issues.

Lorraine was predeceased by her father Don Walsh and her husband Glenn Algera. Lorraine leaves behind her mother Sylvia Walsh, her brother Lutz Walsh (Mireille), her daughter Jennifer Algera, her precious grandsons Max and Luke as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Lorraine loved people and always lit up the room with her beautiful vivacious personality and great laugh. She was smart and had the most vivid memory. She was very passionate about music and cooking and had such amazing energy and warmth. She is sadly missed. There is an empty space now in our lives but always in our hearts forever.  “Ain't Life a Brook.

Lorraine will be interred with her husband Glenn at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Regina. A celebration of life and memorial will be held at a later date after Covid.

In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in her memory.
