Obituary of Enid Doreen Mitchell

Enid Mitchell (nee: Pearce), 94, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021. Enid was predeceased by her husband, Allan; all three of their children: Wayne, Miles, and Colin; and grand-daughter, Katelyn.  

Enid was born in Regina and attended Briarcliffe Rural School and Regina Central Collegiate where at the age of 17 she discovered a lifelong love of painting and the love of her life, Allan. Enid and Allan were married in 1947 and were inseparable for 66 years until his death in 2013.

Together, Allan and Enid shared many interests including genealogy, photography, travelling, and getting together with their friends and families. Enid also enjoyed oil painting, writing family history stories, and preserving family memories. 

Enid lived the last years of her life without her best-friend and partner. She missed him terribly. However, she always tried to focus on what was good in the present, and in the past. Enid is survived by her extended family of in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends – all of whom were a great source of pride for Enid and a great source of those good memories that she relied on to keep her spirit positive. Enid said, “there is always bad and awful news, but let’s look at the good.” She always had a fond memory to share with or about any one of her family and friends, and she was so glad to have been able to know all of us. 

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021. Instead of a funeral, Enid would want you to “remember the good,” and perhaps take a moment to listen to a song in her memory: “I’ll Walk Beside You” which was her wedding song; or her favourite hymn, “In the Garden.”
