Happy to pay tribute to Aunt Dorlean, sister of late Mother Nellie.
First, sincere condolence to Neall, Norton, Angel and families. To mention all in Dorlean’ s immediate family coupled with Aunts and Uncles families I would be researching and you would be reading for longer than already devoted. Saying that I express caring thoughts to Lily and Jennie (Ginny to me :) and all family and friends.
I also like to mention sharing Dorlean’ s pride in the five uncles who served and survived WWII. I found all my aunts and uncles families, those I was fortunate enough to meet, delightful!
Over the years distance and life precluded much time spent with Dorlean. However, each time, when Dorlean visited or able to visit in Regina always good times. I recall as a boy first time meeting Dorlean when she travelled to our house in The Pas. Who is this beautiful Aunt (on the inside and out) I thought? Conversation became easy, even to a little trouble maker like me. Dorlean could talk Hockey, very intelligently I thought. This could not be, an Aunt that knew hockey that well? She did and there was much more to her from a young trouble makers perspective. Oh yes, I gave my Mom much trouble but she lived to age 94 so maybe I stimulated her along the way (doubtful, lol). I digress.
With Dorlean it was always immediate comfort, fun and ease. I’m sure many felt same way in her presence or talking on the phone. In 2010, last time able to visit at her home in Regina, Neall also visiting, I was fortunate enough to have her company over dinner and she invited us to spend the night. Even after many years seeing her in person Dorlean naturally maintained the same comfort and ease with those around her. She played the mandolin for us in the morning and we discussed many topics. Positive encouragement also came from Dorlean. One statement I recall when talking about success is “You need to go out there and get it”! Sure many can offer encouragement and should but with Dorlean it was the way she said it. Her sincere demeanor and caring was quite obvious. She had IMPACT all right. I’m sure on many people.
Always loved and respected! Dorlean will never be forgotten for the beautiful lady she was. I hope she is with the dearly departed now. Not resting in peace but having the same impact her and the entire family seem to have. Paraphrasing another paying tribute ; Dorlean you have done your job here on Earth. I’m sure those you touched will think of you and live by your guidance until we hopefully can meet again. Neall mentioned to me in Dorlean’ s final moment she had a smile on her face. May we all be so fortunate.

I have many happy memories of living next door to Dorlean for about 10 years. I don't think I've known anyone with so much energy, even as the years clicked on. We'll all miss your caring and helpful goodness. May your journey go well. Lots of love, Gail from next door.

So sorry to the families of Neall, Norton and Angel on the loss of such an inspirational woman. Aunt Dorlean was kindly hospitable during our stop overs on visits to her mom, my grandma. She taught my sister and I many a card game. Love and prayers from the Boyetchko (Roberta) and Mclenahan families.

I was very saddened to hear of Dorlean’s passing. She was a wonderful lady who my family had the pleasure of living next door to for many years. My mother, Irene Koch and Dorlean were very good friends and I considered Dorlean my friend as well. She was a very gentle spirit and had a great sense of humour and a smile that brightened your day! We played many card games on our visits back then and always had a great time. My sincere condolences to Neall, Norton, Angel and their families on the loss of their Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Rest In Peace Dorlean.
