Obituary of Doris Thurmeier

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Doris Thurmeier (nee Lipinski) on Thursday, November 4, 2020.  Doris was predeceased by her husband Leo in 2003 and is survived by her four sons, Daryl (Jean), Dwayne (Marianne), Bryan (Kathy) and Brent; as well as twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Doris was born in Markinch on June 3, 1931, the youngest of five siblings.  She so loved telling stories about her life growing up on the farm. Doris always enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.  She had an engaging, friendly demeanour with a great sense of humour. Doris was an avid reader and television enthusiast so she could chat about a lot of varied topics and was never afraid to share her opinion on current events.

We want to thank the staff of Parkside Extendicare South Wing for their kind and compassionate care of our mother.  As a family, we have decided to have a celebration of our Mom’s life at a later date.  Online messages of condolence may be left at www.paragonfuneralservices.com
