Iris Beahm passed away peacefully with her family at her side on October 14, 2020.  She was born to Leigh and Irene Shaw on May 15, 1927. Iris is predeceased by husbands, Calvin (Kelly) Kimery and Frank Beahm; her parents and 4 siblings, Audrey Wasylyshyn, Virginia Turner, Beth Ambrose and Jason Shaw.

Surviving Iris are 5 children, Gail Tayyem (Harold), Leslie Cardwell, Chris Kimery, Tim Kimery (Donna) and Kelly Anne Jackson (Bob); 3 step children, Jodi Johnson, Scott Beahm (Karen), and Jan (Brad) Tannas; 2 siblings, Noreen Kimery and Phillip (Bev) Shaw; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She adored her 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.

Iris worked as a teacher, housewife and retired from SGI.  She served on the Board of Directors at SGI, enjoyed political fundraising and was always up to a good political debate.  A highlight of her life was attending a banquet with Queen Elizabeth.  She loved to read, garden, play cards and sing.  Her Christian faith was very important to her. Later in life, Iris wrote and self-published a book “Maggie” about her grandmother.  She enjoyed travelling to Scotland, Hawaii and many places in the USA and Canada.

Special thanks to Dr. Vermeulen for making our mother want to live again and to the medical staff on Wards 3D, 5D and 4B at the Pasqua Hospital.

A private Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on October 28, 2020 at St. James United Church with a private Graveside Service held at Bekevar at a later date.  Due to Covid rules, those wishing to view a live streaming of the service, may contact Leslie Cardwell to be added to her FB page. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
