Obituary of Kelly Annette Keewatin

Please share a memory of Kelly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Kelly announce her passing on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at the age of 35. During the last couple of years, Kelly was dealing with lung and heart issues that had taken its toll on her, she did her best to make every day count.

She was predeceased by the love of her life Aaron James Dubois; grandmother Yvonne Pascal Salagubas; grandparents Ben and Larose Stonechild; grandparents Murray and Joan Brown; along with her siblings Mark Stonechild and Luke Lerat. Kelly is survived by her children Tyrell, Teyenna, Amen, Anthony, Evan and Aaliyah whom she loved with all her heart. She also had two stepchildren, Tanshina and Cheyenne Dubois. Kelly is also survived by her only grandchild Tyson; parents Ann Margaret Keewatin-Brown, Frank Salagubas, as well as her birth father Dillan Stonechild and stepfather Murray Brown; grandparents Brenda Keewatin-Kinnon (late Jack); siblings Carla, Kyle, Lori, Matthew, Camillia, Benjamin, Tommy and Nathan; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.  A special and heartfelt acknowledgement to close family friend, Brad Donald.

Kelly was a very cheerful child with a big smile and very curious eyes. She viewed everything around her optimistically in her safe little world as she ventured out. Kelly loved to learn and explore everything around her in an inquisitive way that would entice anyone to engage in conversation with her. She was well known for asking questions (and it was never just one). Kelly was a social butterfly, no matter where she went, she would easily make friends. She was always a very gentle and kind person, she never left anyone out. Kelly loved to laugh and joke with those around her. She loved to hear stories of present and past events and was always excited to discover who her relations were. Her love for others was just one of her unique qualities.

Kelly liked to attend church and camp meetings with various family members in the Qu'Appelle valley, mostly with her grandma Brenda and aunty Doreen. As a Christian, she enjoyed the live gospel music, fellowship and hearing the word of God. Other interests of Kelly's included her love of music, always singing. Kelly especially loved country music, she grew up listening to the old country style tunes blaring in her kokum's car while driving to various destinations as she enjoyed travelling. As she grew, Kelly and her mom continued to share their love of country music. We all have a special song with Kelly and will continue to play our special songs.

Kelly was a special individual with many personal accomplishments. To state a few: she had graduated from grade twelve and completed two years of study in social work at the First Nations University in Regina, she modelled during her teen years however that was not her passion but just like Kelly to try something new. Kelly's greatest accomplishment was being a wife and mother. Her legacy will continue with her children and her first and only grandson Tyson. Kelly will be dearly missed by her family and friends, especially her best friend and companion, her mother (mama).

No Funeral Service will be held.
