Please share a memory of Gerald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Gerald Obrigewitsch who passed peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the age of 78.  He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather and a dear friend to so many. Gerald was born in 1942 and married the love of his life Paulette in 1963. He worked as a Crane Operator for Ipsco for 40 years and after retiring there drove school bus for 13 more years. Gerald lived in love every day and his family, friends and his faith were his foundation. He was predeceased by his parents John and Florence Obrigewitsch and his sweet little daughter Nancy.  He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 57 years, Paulette; his children: Debbie (Dan), Brian (Linda), Keith (Holly) and Todd (Kim); grandchildren: Gordon, Raeanne, Rylee and Alexander (Debbie), Dustin (Lacey), Ashley (Michael), and Amanda (Justin) - (Brian and Linda), Nancy (Nathan) and Samantha (Nick) - (Keith and Holly), and Alyssa (Will), Megan and Cole - (Todd and Kim); and great-grandchildren: Denae and Brock (Dustin and Lacey), Titus, Quinten and Harlynn (Amanda and Justin), Olivia and Miranda (Nancy and Nathan). Gerald will also be missed by his sister Lorraine (Mike) Cacic, brothers Alan, Kevin (Brenda) and Bob (Dierdre) and many many dear friends. He truly was our Hero and a man of God. The family would also like to thank the nursing staff at General Hospital for their excellent care of our dad and their compassion for our family during this time.

2020 has taken away so much from us this year.

Today, it took one of the most special human beings;

The man with the biggest heart

The man with the most gorgeous hair

The most patient man

The ultimate bear hug

The MacGyver of anything

The mastermind of crosswords

Our walking google of knowledge

A beautiful voice

A humble man

A proud man

Today we say goodbye, one we weren’t expecting,
one that is unbearable, one that has rocked our lives.

Your love is deep inside all of us
and we will continue to make you proud
through all that you have taught and given us.
