It was a pleasure getting to know Jim. He was a real family man and always so proud and supportive of his children. A great example to all especially us parents. Love, Rod, Diane Howard and family

Dear Auntie Betty and Massey Family,
We want to express our sincere condolences on your loss. Romans 12:12 tells us to "weep with those who weep" and right now perhaps all of us who knew "uncle Jim" are weeping in our own way. However that same scripture tells us to "rejoice with those who rejoice". We look forward to that time with great anticipation, when we will all be rejoicing as we are reunited with our dear loved ones.
We have so many fond memories of time spent together as families, camping, working and enjoying life. We were reminiscing about the time uncle Jim helped me rewire the old shack in White Rock and then we had a great dinner and danced up at Grouse Mountain restaurant. Just one of many of the good times we had together. There is no doubt we will have many more in the future.
With much love,
Keith, Andrea & Family.

(Brian Huff) 1987 to 88 i was going highlands congregation, my mother(single parent) was doing her best to bring me up in the truth. most times i felt unhappy to be there because i had no friends to visit with. But every time Jim's smile would comfort me and his jokes to make me laugh,I think Jim understood the struggles mother and I were going through I often looked to see that Jim was there at the meeting. Jim and Betty were sweet and kind, Jim's smile was contagious and cant wait to see it again in paradise

Claudale and I send our love to you Betty and all your family. Jim was fondly and forever telling and re-telling the experience of how Claudale learned the Truth, and we know he was so happy to have been "a fellow worker" watering the tender sapling as Jehovah "made it grow". Your love and support helped a spiritual orphan find his Heavenly Father, and enjoy the eternal blessings of having a loving family of his own. May Jehovah wrap you in his loving arms until he can return you to the embrace of "your dear one and your boy companion".
Love, Claudale, Krystal, Ethan, Brooklyn, Denim and Avonlea Elferzeli

So many memories over 60+ years! The plastic icing. The visit on Mudge. The time Uncle Jim brought me home from the hospital and washed my hair on the kitchen counter. The songs around the piano. The time he taught me how to tune a piano. Going for dinner the night before Dad's funeral. And of course, the time Uncle Jim removed my wings and saved me from the witch doctor. So glad I had the chance to visit Auntie Betty and Uncle Jim last summer (thanks Todd & Sherry) and to see him at Zoom a few weeks ago (thanks Norm).

For Dad
You wrote your name on Paper
You Traced it in the Sand
You Carved it in some Marble
With a Firm and Steady Hand
The Paper it has yellowed
The Sand Has blown Away
The Marble it will crumble
For all Earthly things decay
There is a Book in Heaven
Its Leaves are Kept with Care
Its our Creator, Jehovah's Book
I know Your Name is Written There
Ecclesiastes 7:1,2
A good name is better than good oil,and the day of death is better than the day of birth.
Better to go to the house of mourning than to the house of feasting, for that is the end of every man,
and the living should take it to heart.

So many adventures since joining this Massey clan. Regional conventions in Saskatoon, Edmonton; Circuit Assemblies in Roblin, Yorkton, Regina, Onoway. Medical appts in Regina, Saskatoon, Yorkton. From east to west – Selkirk (Massey Family Reunion, Skinner’s), Winnipeg (once driving there through a blizzard, gravesites, looking up old neighbourhoods), Birds Hill Park/Grand Beach; Watrous/Manitou Beach Mineral Springs; camping trips to Kananaskis (May long weekend); train trip from Melville to Vancouver (Palmer’s 50th at Harrison Hot Springs, and chance to visit both of Mom’s brothers on the Island); Mexico. And of course my most memorable trip with Jim – Bowron Provincial Park canoe circuit in 2004 (he was 67 years old). Jim paddled our canoe around the circuit, along with Todd and a few of the grandchildren in the other canoe; fulfilling something Jim always wanted to accomplish. Todd/I went on to do the circuit a few more times, taking all three daughters. Thank you Betty for lending us your husband. We will all miss him, but soon he will be back with us. He needed to rest. John 5: 28, 29 Let us hold on to our memories Betty, Gord, Norm, Al, Sue, and Todd - till we can be with him again. Sherry Massey

My condolences to Auntie Betty and family. I sure remember lots of fun times we had together, both in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Uncle was always ready to drop everything when it came time to visit, even if it meant driving hours or another province to make it happen. You will be greatly missed.

I remember my Uncle Jim showing up at my Calgary home with him towing his broken RV trailer; we had a great visit talking late into the evening before repairs were made the following day. I'm so happy to have known and loved him during our shared life adventure! With love, sympathy and fond memories, David & Chery Brian and Family.

I will always remember all the fun times we would have at grandma and grandpas house, playing with all the toys under their stairs in the basement, especially the barn and learning to play Crokinole!! One of my favorite memories :) Love you Grandma, I am sending you a huge hug right now ❤❤❤ Can't wait until Paradise to see Grandpa in his prime :)

I remember when I was about 13 I had my first job, delivering the Edmonton Examiner. A friend and I decided - why not make bracelets and other crafts and sell those along the way too!! Well Grampa was our biggest supporter! Haha. We made this one particularly hideous paper mache crocodile, haha it was lopsided, wonky eyed and just hilarious to look at. Grampa chose him so quick; he displayed him proudly on his dashboard and told everyone its story. Love you so much Grampa, see you soon!!!!
