Obituary of Ross Stewart MacLean

Please share a memory of Ross to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The family of Ross Maclean is saddened to announce the loss of his precious life on August 6, 2020. After a brave, hard fought and tiring fight with cancer, Ross left this life surrounded by his family and friends and will once again be with his loving wife Marj.

Ross was predeceased by his wife Marj, of 46 years; parents Tom and Ruth MacLean; step-father George Prentice; and his brother Bobby MacLean. Ross leaves behind two sons Bob (Wanda) MacLean and Bruce MacLean (Dawn Schmidt); two grandchildren Brooklyn and Cole MacLean. Also left to mourn are his brothers Charlie (Jan) Plant, Tom MacLean; and his sisters Margaret Selin, Elaine (Bob) Smith, Genie (Colin) Rummary; and lastly his dog Buckley.

Ross worked in multiple positions including a long-time truck driver, business entrepreneur, and in sales. No matter where you attended someone knew Ross and had conversation with him. He loved to fish and show pictures of his prize-winning walleye’s. He loved his horses and playing hockey and softball in his younger years. He loved to attend his children and grandchildren’s activities taking great pride in being able to say he knew them and their accomplishments. Ross spent many hours reading and studying the Bible. He spent time attending and volunteering at his church.  Ross was proud to speak about God and Jesus and in his subtle way tried to educate people about his faith. Thank you to Bruce for not only being Ross’ son but one of his good friends and fishing buddy. He was soft spoken but when he spoke you knew it was coming from the heart and his belief. He will be missed and loved by his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in Ross’ memory. Due to current restrictions, there will be a private service, however a livestream will be available at https://youtu.be/aTVOqfWe4s0 on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.
