Obituary of Allison Faye Armstrong
Allison Faye Armstrong passed away on June 5, 2020 in Regina, SK. She is predeceased by her father Donald; her sister Wendy. Allison is survived by her loving family, daughter Sara; mother Marilyn; sister Dawn (Kevin) Marr; brother Ward; nieces Jennifer, Angela, Bethany and Kari (Cory); nephews Shaun and Paul; as well as numerous relatives. A private family service is being held. Paragon Funeral services entrusted with arrangements.
Allison was born in Regina, SK and grew up in Regina, Melita, MB and Gainsborough, SK. She went to university in Brandon, MB and Saskatoon, SK where she received her Pharmacy degree. She worked as a pharmacist for a short time before moving to Regina and becoming a Sasktel employee where she worked for the remainder of her career.
Allison was active in sports such as long-distance running, rugby and hockey to name a few. She loved to take walks around the neighbourhood when the weather was nice as she enjoyed being outdoors as much as possible. Camping and gardening were some of her favourite hobbies. Her house was always surrounded with flowers during the spring and summer seasons. With her love of nature came her love of wildlife and animals as she had many pets throughout her life. Her favourite being Sheldon, the Christmas cat as she liked to call him. She was strong willed and determined, raising her daughter on her own and doing the best that she could to push through any problem.
Never being the sort of person to give up as she liked to follow her own path. She had a get-it-done sort of attitude. Unfortunately, she also struggled with mental health issues and alcoholism but faced each with courage and did her absolute best. She, along with her family, were so proud that she had achieved 2 years of sobriety with Alcoholics Anonymous before her passing.
Now her struggles are over and she is in peace and comfort in the arms of the angels. We will keep her close in our thoughts, letting the difficult memories go and holding onto the happy times.
A quote from one of Allison’s favourite novels...
In western lands beneath the Sun
the flowers may rise in Spring,
the trees may bud, the waters run,
the merry finches sing.
Or there maybe 'tis cloudless night
and swaying beeches bear
the Elven-stars as jewels white
amid their branching hair.
Though here at journey's end I lie
in darkness buried deep,
beyond all towers strong and high,
beyond all mountains steep,
above all shadows rides the Sun
and Stars for ever dwell:
I will not say the Day is done,
nor bid the Stars farewell.
In Loving Memory
