Obituary of Wanda Maria Ugolini

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wanda Maria Ugolini on June 10, 2020 in Regina, SK. Wanda is predeceased by her parents Luigi and Margharita Calzola; brothers Fulvio Calzola and Guarino Calzola; sister Marina Calzola; and husband Orlando Ugolini. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Lina Moscatelli; brothers Marino Calzola and Giuseppe Calzola; and her children Remo, Laura & Paul Ugolini.

Wanda was born in Gubbio, Italy in 1933 where she lived through the hard times of the Great Depression and World War II as a child. Post war, she moved to Rome where she worked as a hotel employee for a number of years. Then she met and married Orlando Ugolini in 1961 and moved to faraway Regina, SK becoming a Canadian Citizen in 1970. Wanda began working at the well known Danny Donut Bakery on downtown Broad St. during the 1970’s. She would later become a longtime dietary employee at the General Hospital. Wanda enjoyed a long retirement visiting Italy many times to see friends and family. Her friendly and vibrant personality will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. Special thanks to the staff of the Parkside Extendicare for caring for Wanda and the excellent team of nurses at the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit 3A for their caring treatment of her. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Parish with interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
