Obituary of Grant Michael Wheatley
Polished and tuned, pedal to the metal, red lining every single gear, full throttle, drifting around every corner and in the fast lane - this is how Grant loved and drove cars, as well as how he loved and lived life.
A much loved son, brother, father, partner, grandpa and free spirited friend, Grant was truly a rare bird who sang perhaps from a different song sheet.
He was born in Nokomis, SK and lived in Semans, SK until he was 5 years old when his family moved to Regina. When he was in school, his notebooks were scattered with drawings of cars. He owned several auto body shops and then began painting with his Dad and brother. He was extremely well known in Regina, almost never traveled and lived his whole life here. He passed away suddenly in the wee hours of the morning on May 26th with family by his side. He will be thought about and loved for a long time to come.
His ashes will be, at his request, spread and let blow free across Saskatchewan - the place he called home!
He was predeceased by his father, Glen. Grant leaves to be mourned and lovingly remembered by his partner, Mary Lou; children Brittani (Brandon, Burke) and Chris (Ava); step children Carly (Cory, Henry, Gavin, Charlie) and Keaton (Sam); mother Norma; sister Carla (Allan, Evan, Connor); brothers Scott and Darin (Tanya, Karlee, Jordan) and many, many friends.
How we live our lives - that is our message.
Grant’s message would be: Smile, be who you are, nothing to be ashamed of, live and let live, we are each unique beings with good and bad qualities, always be there for your friends and always help those in need. Grant had a huge heart and the best, make you feel good, genuine smile!
You will truly be missed. Donations in memory of Grant may be made to the Regina Humane Society.
In Loving Memory
Grant Wheatley
