Obituary of Harold Hameluck

Harold passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on April 6, 2020. He is survived by his wife Alice; son Rod (Shirley); and only grandchild Kristen. He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses: Bob (Merle), Diane (Jim), Tom (Terry), George (Pat); in-laws: Tena and Margaret; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Harold was predeceased by his parents George and Julia; brothers: Bill, Clarence and Ron; sister Kathy Haworth as well as in-laws Lois and Don.

Harold spent most of his life in the printing business. He worked at the Leader Post in various positions where he made many wonderful lifelong friends. After 35 plus years of service, Harold retired as the Manager of the Composing Dept. in 1985.

Harold and Alice enjoyed many vacations including trips to Atlanta, Michigan, Germany, Hawaii and a Caribbean cruise.

Harold’s greatest joy was his granddaughter Kristen. They spent much time together, playing school, with Harold as the student and Kristen as teacher. Grampa was always game to play whatever Kristen wanted. The two of them held a very special bond.

Harold will be remembered for his sense of humour as well as his kindness and generosity to others. He was deeply loved and will be missed by family and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ole Rasmussen and the wonderful staff at Sunset Extendicare East wing for the excellent care and compassion provided to Harold during his stay there.

A memorial service for Harold will be held at a later date.
