Obituary of Harold Derwood Blackmore

Please share a memory of Harold to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Harold Derwood Blackmore will be sadly missed, but celebrated, as he peacefully left to be with God in His Heavenly Home, while holding the hands of the love of his life, wife Marg Blackmore, and his daughter Deena Offet on March 24, 2020.

Harold was known to be a trademark gentleman his entire life, cherished by a family who marvelled foremost, at his depth of his character. He set a standard of virtue and discipline with a gentle smile that continues to be highly appreciated by all who knew him, especially his family. People of all ages describe Harold as kind, warm, funny, loyal and patient. Harold was born on his family homestead in 1934 which he went on to farm with Marg and raise their family. He was known for his love of stories, his resourcefulness and the many roles that he undertook on the farm, his hospitality and his love of horses. He drove the local school bus for 30+ years and was loved by many families in the community. He and Marg were also very involved in their church until they retired to Regina. Harold enjoyed family, friends and freedom upon retirement, their new church community, and working in the yard. His quiet faith but loud example and love impacted all who knew him.

Harold is deeply celebrated in the hearts of his wife Marg Blackmore; daughter Deena Offet (Todd Volk) of Moosomin, SK; daughter Juliann (Barry) of Merrickville, Ontario; and son Jay (Carrie) of Regina, SK. Harold was a much loved Grandfather to grandchildren: Haley, Jssel (Brendan Hysuik), Mason, Taylor, Morgan, and Ryanne Blackmore; Callie, Jensen, Cael and Tahlaya Offet; and two great grandchild Andi and Carter Hysuik. Harold will be missed by his siblings: Gaenel (Shirley) Blackmore, Florence (Dale) Start, Audrey (George) Pelletier, and Glenda (Reynold) Larson. Harold also loved and was loved by numerous nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by his loving parents, Leonard & Jean Blackmore; siblings, Helen, Art, Adela, Laurel, Leona; Bernice, Lois, Stewart, Opal, Ruth and Doris.
