Obituary of Harold Wilfred Marsden

Please share a memory of Harold to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With heavy hearts, we are sad to announce the peaceful passing of Harold “Alec” Marsden, May 18, 1945 – March 9, 2020. Harold is predeceased by his loving wife Margaret Tanner; mother, Bessie Marsden and father, Harold Marsden. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Christa Tanner; granddaughters, Ehrica Tanner (Chris) and Klarissa Leithchman (Mike); grandsons, Sehven Tanner and Zeke Tanner; brothers, Williams Marsden (Lynn) and Lawrence (Theresa) Marsden; special niece Heather Benjoe; uncles, Ray Letandre, Alec Letandre and Bernard Letandre; as well as many cousins and longtime friends, Wallace and Joan Flette.

Known as Alec in his home community of Fairford, MB, Alec was admired for his 100 mile an hour pitch in baseball. Later in life Alec worked as a steel worker in Northern Manitoba Projects. Alec will be remembered for his hard work and generosity towards others. Committed to his family and community, Alec did not talk about his many accomplishments in life, rather he focused on the betterment of those around him. Alec generously and consistently filled his day with acts of kindness; known as Mr. Fix-It, a dedicated church member with Amen house and “The best friend you could ever ask for.” A hero to his brothers and to his children, Alec’s contribution to a better world will not be lost.
