Ronald Duane St Onge passed away peacefully on March 4, 2020 at age 89 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Ron was predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret; son Warren; sister Marlys; and his parents Arthur and Emelda. Ron will be lovingly remembered by sons: Rick (Donna) & family Robb (Christina) and Derek (Cassandra); Marvin; Mark (Terri) & family Jeff (Elaina) and Jennifer (Andy); and by his daughters: Brenda (Mo) & family Geneise (Dion) and Jay (Kim); Joan (Mike) & family Ceilidh, Meighan and Brad; Warren’s family Louise, Erin, Dan (Justine) and Thomas (Alyshia);  great grandchildren Maddox, Jacee, Liberty, Carsyn, Roland, Eve, Emmeline and Ezra; and by Ron’s sisters: Doris, Marlene (Byron) & Darlene as well as his brother, Gary (Connie). Ron also leaves to mourn Margaret’s brothers, sisters and their families.

Ron was born in Fargo, North Dakota and spent the majority of his life in agricultural based roles, working for a number of farmers as a youth, as a Partsman for CP Kaufmann in Oxbow in 1962 and in returning to Torquay in 1963 to take over his father’s Massey/Versatile machinery dealership. When the business closed in 1969, Ron worked for Ehrmantraut Brothers in Torquay for 2 years and then the family relocated to Regina, where Ron, Margaret and Rick all worked for CP Kaufmann. Ron then worked for Hesston Industries and then for Longs Equipment in Weyburn as a Service Manager. In 1980, Ron joined Sask. Power Corp as a Farm Manager/Reclamation Consultant, where he took on the task of reclaiming the mined land near the Boundary Dam Power station near Estevan and converting it back to farm land. It was in this role that Ron gained his highest level of job satisfaction and displayed the same commitment and pride as if he owned the land himself, earning a Conservation Award for his efforts! SPC continued to renew Ron’s one year contract until Ron retired into his mid 70’s.

Ron and Margaret wintered in Arizona for 20 years, enjoying time in the sun with family & friends. Ron’s faith was at the center of his life, attending mass every day he was able to, reading the Bible regularly and he and Margaret spent many hours serving the poor as Vincentians in Eloy, Arizona.

A Funeral Mass honouring Ron will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020, at Resurrection Parish, 3155 Windsor Park Road, Regina, SK.
