Obituary of Laura Janet Blodgett

Please share a memory of Laura to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With sadness we announce the passing of Laura J Blodgett on February 29, 2020.

Born February 10, 1942 in Empress, AB, the youngest of 11 children. Laura grew up on a Farm near Estuary, and later moved to Leader Saskatchewan. She met her one and only soul mate and later married Lawrence Blodgett in 1962. They had 53 wonderful years together as the very best of friends and it was rare to see one without the other.

Laura and Lawrence were blessed with 2 children. Warren and Carla, Laura was the best Mom in the world! Always there for her kids with compassion, support, love and care. The best of homemakers, putting her family first, an excellent cook, baker, and always had the house in perfect order.

In 1979, their son Warren lost his life in a car accident, breaking her heart, losing her son at such a young age.

Laura was a kind and loving Grandmother to Carla's children, Jordan and Brooklynn who she loved and missed so much when they moved to Regina. She could hardly wait to see them the next time, even before they left to go home after a visit.

In 2014, Laura had a heart attack and had recovered from that, living for the most part healthy, until just before her death when a significant amount of cancer had taken its toll.

Lawrence passed in August of 2017, and Laura moved to the Regina area to be with her family. She felt lost without him, but enjoyed the time with her daughter and grandkids every day.

Laura ‘s memory will be cherished by her daughter, Carla Blodgett; and her children Jordan Blodgett and Brooklynn Blodgett; her sister Elsie (Rudy) Yackel, Evelyn (Karl) Hoffmann, as well as numerous nieces and nephews which she loved so much. She is predeceased by her son, Warren Blodgett, husband Lawrence Blodgett and 8 siblings- Albert (Phyllis) Hoffman, Lydia (Adolf) Faser, August(Alma) Hoffman, Viola (Henry) Rexius, Mary (Jack) Rexius, Bill Hoffman, Freida (George) Fischer, Ruth (Walter) and their son Ronald Besler.

A Celebration of Laura’s Life will be held at a later date.
