Obituary of Gerald Milton Enick

Please share a memory of Gerald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Enick on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the age of 84 years. He was predeceased by his parents Milton and Mary Enick; brother Bayne; and son Kerry. Gerald is lovingly remembered by his wife Laura; son Karman (Cheryl); daughter Kim (Todd) Girgulis; daughter Kathleen Brown; sisters-in-law Donna Enick and Yvonne Gray; grandchildren Brayden and Karyssa Enick, and Matthew and Adam Brown. Gerald will be remembered for the special way that he interacted with people with his warm, caring, gentle and compassionate personality. He was often referred to as the "The Park Bench Guy" because he was always willing to spend the time with people and hear their life story. Gerald was an amazing coach, mentor, motivator and teacher. He influenced and inspired many students over a 30 year teaching career as an Elementary School, High School and Correspondence School teacher. Gerald loved the companionship of fellow teachers and would often go on fishing trips with them. Though he often returned with an empty pail, it was building and maintaining relationships which mattered to Gerald. Gerald was a very passionate and skilled 5 pin bowler. As a two-time Canadian Men's Team - Gold Medal Champion, he was known as the "Gentle Giant" because he would unselfishly spend time to coach, mentor and assist anyone with their bowling technique and skills. He also had a strong passion for CFL football. As a Roughrider fan, Gerald enjoyed watching every scheduled CFL game with his wife Laura to the extent that TSN could have hired him as a backup analyst or commentator. One of their most memorable trips together was attending the 100th Grey Cup game in Toronto in 2012 when they were both 76. Gerald had a crazy sense of humour and would always find innovative ways to make people laugh including rattling his false teeth for his grandchildren and dressing up as a clown bride in mock wedding skits at milestone wedding anniversaries. A private cremation ceremony has taken place. . In lieu of flowers donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada or St. Paul’s Cathedral Building in Faith Program, 1861 McIntyre St., Regina, SK S4P 2R2.

THE SERVICE IS POSTPONED UNTIL 2021. DATE OF SERVICE TO BE DETERMINED.

JERRY'S FAMILY WOULD APPRECIATE ALL THOSE WHO WISH TO LEAVE A MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO INCLUDE A FAVOURITE STORY OR MEMORY OF JERRY
