With sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of Bert Stroh of Vibank, SK on Saturday December 14, 2019 at the age of 87. Bert was predeceased by his parents; Roy and Anna (Schaaf) Stroh; 6 older brothers and 3 sisters in-law Pius (Emma), Andrew (Ethel), Bill (Hilda), Wendel, Lenus, Leo; 3 sisters and brother in-laws Rose (Pete), Sally (Tracey), and Barb (Torp). Bert is survived by his wife Ruth; his children Gail Ell (Darrell), Barry Stroh (Linda), Cheryl Fink (Warren), Brenda Parisian (Ray), Kevin Stroh, Dan Stroh (Pam), Shannon Cornell (Rick), Shelley Stroh (Carl); 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; 3 sisters-in-law Dianne, Helen, and Leona; as well as Ruth’s children Jim Sanderson (Tina), Robert Sanderson (Karen), Terry Sanderson (Sheila), and Loretta Englot (Norman). Bert was born and raised in Vibank, SK where he eventually took over the family farm, and has now passed it on to the next generation. Bert loved to spend time with family and friends, and had a strong sense of community. Bert’s passion was dancing and received many dance trophies over the years. He attended more Polka Fests than one can count. Bert was also an avid card player. He loved cribbage and would start up a game when and wherever he could. Bert also loved coaching girls softball which he did for over 25 years and earned his way into the Indian Head Sports Hall of Fame. Bert will be sadly missed by his family and friends and will be fondly remembered through the memories he left.
