Obituary of Gordon Edward Teasdale

Please share a memory of Gordon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Gord passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 5, 2019. Predeceased by his beloved wife Marg, he is survived by sons Greg (Patty) and Vaughn; sister Helen Carper and her family in Florida; cousins in Ontario, Alberta and the USA; as well as in-laws and several nieces and nephews on Marg’s side. Gord was born December 1, 1933 and raised on a farm near Paisley, Ontario. Growing up he was active in hockey, baseball and lacrosse. In 1950 he headed west to join the harvest and then continued his adventure until reaching the west coast before returning home. In 1951, he returned to Saskatchewan to stay, testing the waters until settling into the trucking industry. He drove a couple million miles for Maccam, Trimac, Kingsway and C.S. Day, and did so with a spotless driving record. Gord met Marg in Moose Jaw at a Temple Gardens dance. They married in 1957 and started a family before moving to Regina in 1972. Gord was a humble, reserved man, doing all for his family. He was a good father who let his sons find their own way, but was always there when needed. In keeping with Gord’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Gord and Marg’s co-mingled ashes will be interred at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, Palliative Care Services would be appreciated.
