Dr. Robert Wilson Bridge was a cousin of mine. The relationship started with his mother Ada Ellen Wilson-Bridge 1905-1980, the daughter of Ellen Elizabeth Ann Mattick b.1861 and Edwin Elon Wilson of Radstock, England. Ada's mother, Ellen, was the oldest daughter of Albert John Mattick 1838-1886 and Mary Elizabeth Stock 1841-1919. A younger sister of Ellen was my grandmother, Catherine Francis Amelia Mattick 1882-1956. Catherine (Kit, Kitty) married my grandfather, her fist cousin, James Rogers 1872-1947. James was the son of Emma Stock 1834-1920 and Benjamin Rogers1837-1896. Benjamin and Emma Rogers moved to the Edgeley area of Saskatchewan 1882 before the railroad was completed through the province. Mary Stock and Albert John Mattick moved to the Edgeley area of Saskatchewan in October, 1886 to be supported by her sister's family Benjamin and Emma Rogers. Albert and Mary had operated a livery stable in Radstock, England. Albert John was ill with TB, and died two weeks after they arrived at Edgeley. They brought 8 of their 11 children with them. Their eldest daughter, Ellen, and Elon Wilson stayed in Radstock England where they were still developing their family. Ellen and Edwin's daughter Ada moved to Canada and married Dr. Reginald Clifford Bridge of Assiniboia. Another daughter of Ellen and Elon, Helena Catherine Wilson 1884-1942 came to Canada married, Benjamin Grove Rogers 1881-1967, the brother of my grandfather, James Rogers.

Fran and family ... our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. It was always fun to see Dr. Bob at the gun club and the always present smile. Jokes and laughter would always abound. Mom passed just a few days before Bob, on 12 September. There are a few squads from the gun club up there - enjoying their time together again.
Respectfully
