Obituary of Gordon Miles Thompson

Gordon passed away peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2023.  He was predeceased by his parents, Olive and Ernest; in-laws George and Annie Vranai; and sister-in-law Doreen Mitchell.   Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Margaret; brothers Len (Geri) and Jack (Leora) and their families; brother-in-law George (Caroline) Vranai and their family; and sister-in-law Barb Vranai.  He will also be missed by his special niece Darlene Moskal; neighbours and close friends Jocelyn Hodie and Norm (Oonie); as well as numerous Regina Pats hockey fans.

Gordon loved his sports, especially hockey. He and Margaret were true fans of the Regina Pats.  They have been season ticket-holders since 1981.  Gordon was a handyman, and loved to tinker away in his garage.   He enjoyed building birdhouses and could fix anything that needed fixing.   He also enjoyed gardening and flowers and was blessed with a green thumb.  Gordon also loved food, eating in particular.   He was a regular volunteer at the Marian Centre, an organization that held a special place in his heart.

Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service on December 28, 2023 at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish, 2049 Scarth Street, Regina, SK.   Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Parish with reception to be held at the Marian Centre, 1835 Halifax Street Regina, SK. Flowers gratefully declined. Those so wishing may make donations in memory of Gordon to the Marian Centre or Mass offering.
