Obituary of Koda-Eve Paula Joyce Pinay

Please share a memory of Koda-Eve to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Koda-Eve Paula Joyce Pinay. She was born and raised in Regina, SK and passed away at the young age of 19 after taking her last breath on Saturday, November 4, 2023 in Regina, SK at Regina General Hospital, where having a surgery to donate her organs that will be saving four people’s lives.

Koda was fun-loving, always engaging in conversations, and spontaneously dropping by family and friends. She was her namesake meaning “friendship” as she made friends with everyone she met; or at least leaving an impression on everyone she came across. Koda was always her unapologetic authentic self; she would bring energy into the room and to the conversations she had. Koda loved to fill her time by playing video games, or doing her make-up, nails and hair. Koda was so proud to be a mom to her 5-month-old daughter and loved her so very much.

She was predeceased by her brother Sykora Pinay; grandfather Don Neter; great-grandparents Edward and Elizabeth Pinay; and great-grandmother Christina Kempf.

Koda-Eve is survived by her daughter Nova Pinay-Bellegarde; mom Kathy Neter; sister Lillian Mendibles (Isaiah); soon to be nephew Juddson Mendibles; grandmother Rose Neter; grandfather Neil Pinay; grandmother Margrette Cyr; uncles Edward Neter; uncle David (Gina); aunt Patti Turko (Daniel); uncle Bill (Diane); as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins with lots of family friends that have always been there to guide her along the way; and biological father Lonnie Pinay.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1909 Ottawa Street, Regina, SK. For those unable to attend, a livestream may be found on the church’s Facebook page at facebook.com/TELCRegina
