SCHINDEL, Anna Clara “Babs”

Anna Clara Schindel “Babs” passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur; daughter Beverley Anne Sorsdahl; parents Henry and Anna Hoogeveen; brothers Bert and Bill; sisters Styne, Margaret, Grace, Eelje, Jeanne, Evelyn and Norma. Babs will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Sheri; sisters Marg (Harold) Blackmore and Joy (Gary) Elves; 10 grandchildren Chad (Taryn), Whitney (Scott), Kevin (Lisa), Michael, Shannon (Jim), Annette (Jeff), Nicole, Kim, Heather (Nathan) and Greg (Sharon); 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Babs was born on the family farm on July 24, 1924. Times were tough, money was scarce but everyone survived and Babs made the most of her childhood and teenage years. She was a janitor at the school for 25 cents an hour, cleaned homes and helped out at various homes when a baby was born. She married at an early age, raised her family and went to hairdressing school. She owned and operated two beauty salons. Babs loved life and lived it to the fullest during good times and bad times. She loved dressing up, high heels and jewelry. Babs and Art moved to Regina in 1988 where she resided until her passing. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Prairie View Community Church, 1054 Dorothy St., Regina, SK. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prairie View Community Church, 1054 Dorothy St., Regina, SK S4X 1E7.
