WOOD, Larry Dean

Larry passed away peacefully at the Salvation Army Grace Hospice, on Wednesday September 26, 2018 at the age of 67 years. Larry was predeceased by his father, Glen Wood. Larry will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Margaret Wood; siblings Glen (Sharon), Frank (Susan), Pamela (Phil) Holbrow, Rod (Shirley), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Larry lived his life grateful for each new day. He loved to absorb himself in nature and expressed this love through what he felt was a God given artistic ability. As a gifted artist he created extraordinary paintings and sketches at an early age. He worked as a graphic artist in the Regina print industry. Larry purchased the old red brick Katepwa School House with plans to convert it into a home and art studio. His plans were never fully realized as he was diagnosed with MS as a young man. Eventually progressive MS led to his total dependence on others, yet through it all Larry considered himself blessed. He rarely complained and when asked how he was he'd reply using such words as ecstatic, excellent, fantastic, and so fortunate. Larry said his gift of patience came with two letters,.. MS. Larry was not religious but professed to being a Christian. His relationship with the Lord was truly a personal one. The family thank the staff of the Lumsden and District Heritage Home, Pasqua Hospital 4B and the Salvation Army Grace Hospice for the loving care provided. A Celebration of Larry's life will be held at 1:30p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Broadway United Church, 105 Broadway Ave., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society.
