Obituary of Edward Lipinski
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Lipinski of Cupar, Saskatchewan, on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the age of 95 years. Ed joins his beloved granddaughter, Morgan, in Heaven. Leaving to mourn are his wife of 65 years, Eleanor (nee Ermel), daughters Donna (Rick), and Diane, and sons Wayne (Rose), and Garth (Nancy), 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sister Doris, brother Joe (Helen), and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was born and raised in the Markinch area. He was drafted by the Canadian Army, sent to WWII, and was part of the Royal Regina Rifles Regiment that liberated Holland. Upon his return at the end of the war, Ed married Eleanor and they settled into family life north of Cupar. He was a first-generation homesteader who began a farming legacy that continues to this day. Ed was a dedicated member of his community and on occasion enjoyed a spirited game of cards with his many friends. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Ed’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cupar, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed’s memory to Allan Blair Cancer Centre, Regina, SK.
