ELSIE  LUCAS (nee KLIMOSKO)

AUGUST 22, 1939 – MAY 28, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our mom in her home on Monday, May 28, 2018 at the age of 78.  She had been battling various medical issues the past year and while we are saddened to see her leave us, we are grateful that her suffering and stress are now relieved.  Mom liked watching sports and shows on tv, watching the neighbourhood while rocking in her chair by the window, reading the newspaper and her little bible, gardening and spending time in person or on the phone with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she always liked to have sit in her lap and be rocked or “scratch” their backs with her fingernails.  Mom and dad were always there for us no matter what, good or bad; helping out with yard or house work, watching the grandchildren, supporting all of our activities and events, getting us out of jams or opening up their wallet.

Mom was predeceased by husband Clifford, grandson Seth, parents Dmitro and Sophie, brother Alex,  sisters Natalia and Olga, brothers-in-law Lloyd, Fred and Clint, sister-in-law Hilda, in-laws George and Martha, niece Shenette.  Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses, Sherry and Correy, Kelly and Rory, Jason and Janine; her grandchildren Tara (Jeremie) and Tyler, Ethan and Kane, Jaeden, Matteus and Keziah; great-granddaughter Nevaeh; brother Peter (Rose); sisters Mary (Rod) and Ann; sisters-in-law Sharon and Brenda as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

As per mom’s wishes, she is being cremated and we are having a small, private family gathering in her memory.  Knowing her, she’s probably wondering why we are making such a fuss!  Love you!
