FIESEL, John Peter

It is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of my dear husband, John. He was born in Romania on January 18, 1935. Grew up and had his education in Salzburg, Austria. Immigrated with his mother to Canada in 1951. Met his wife Gerda on a blind date and got married in 1958. John worked as a machinist in a couple of different places. Later in his life he started his own business called “Performance Valve Work”. John worked hard and many long hours and did well until retirement. John and his wife enjoyed traveling to Germany and other amazing places in Europe. As well as Hawaii, which was always our favoured destination for many years. He was predeceased by his parents and brother in infancy. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gerda of 59 years; godchild Nancy Dayton (Jeff); sister in law Hanna Brochu (Emile) and family; brother in law Fred Polter (Lynn) and family as well as cousins and many friends in Regina and Germany. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1909 Ottawa St., Regina, SK. Special thanks to Dr. Carter, who operated on John in 2007 for pancreatic cancer. Also thank you to the staff at the cancer clinic and Pasqua Hospital and R.G.H. over the many years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Regina Humane Society, P.O. Box 3143 Regina, SK S4P 3G7 or to a charity of choice.
