It is with deep sorrow we regret to inform you that our beloved George Favel (Makwa; Kamawit Apinohci; Kapapamoset Ahsiniwacink) has begun his journey to the Spirit World. George shared the traditional & ceremonial ways with many. He was a kind, generous man who greatly loved his family, friends & extended family. George will be remembered for praying on behalf of others, sacrificing, and participating in the Big Lodges.

George spent time at the former SIFC as both a student and as a student union member. He worked as a cultural liaison with the Regina Public School Board. George also worked as a volunteer Elder adviser for the RQHR in his final years.

George is predeceased by his father Victor Kay; maternal grandparents Annie & Charlie Favel; paternal grandparents Andrew Kay & Clara Napootican; sister Janice; brother Herbie ;nephew Tyrone Bear; father-in-law RR Pelletier.

George is survived by his loving mother Irene Favel; siblings Gordie (Viola);May; Rick(Tina);Lori; Doris; Kathy & Gerald (Charmaine).George also has siblings from his late father's side.George  leaves to mourn many adopted brothers & sisters; aunts & uncles; many cousins, nieces & nephews.

George is survived by Sandi, his loving wife of 30 yrs & their children; Mick, Kamamakos & Andy. Also, his daughter Joalene (Steve) & her children; as well as his sons: Jacey (and family) & Ricky-Lee.

A viewing will be held in Regina at Indigenous Christian Fellowship (3131 Dewdney Ave) on May 8 from 1-3 pm, followed by a wake at the Piapot Community Centre on Piapot F.N. at 4:00 pm. A traditional funeral will take place on May 9, at 11:00 am. officiated by Murray Ironchild with head Oskapewis Roland Kaye. As per traditional protocol and family wishes,we ask that no children attend.

George loved Mushum Pisim and the warmth & beauty of the sun. Let us remember him when Mushum Pisim shines.
