Roy Gillis Dobson

Roy Gillis Dobson, age 83, passed away on January 23, 2018. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Christine Evelyn Dobson (nee Norberg); twin brother, Donald Dobson (Evelyn); nieces, Harmony (Ken), Melody (Tom); nephews, Blaine (Sheila), Terry (Joël) and several great nieces and nephews. Roy was pre-deceased by his parents Gordon and Hattie Dobson; brother Lorne (Euthel); sisters in law Lillian and Annie. Roy began his life in Disley, SK in an apple box bed with his twin brother Don in the midst of the Great Depression (was the only time in his life he would fit into one). He was employed by The City of Regina as a mechanic until his retirement. He spent his retirement with Chris in their home at Alice Beach. An avid outdoorsman, Roy snowmobiled, hunted the prairies and fished the numerous lakes. He and Chris were an integral part of the Dilke community.  Roy was a good neighbor, helping out and fixing any and all mechanical devices and lending a hand at harvest or wherever he was needed. We will all miss him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: The Disley Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 242, Lumsden, SK S0G 3C0 or The Regina Humane Society. At Roy’s request no funeral will be held.
