DORIS MUNRO

On Thursday, January 11, 2018, Doris Munro passed away peacefully at the age of 87. Doris will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, Lyle; her daughter Elaine (Frank) Verhelst and son Bob (Gaylene) Munro; grandchildren Angie (Justin) Symes, Kate (Jacob) Kujaneck, Laura Verhelst (Adam McMurtry), Cheryl Verhelst (Aadon Fieger), Andrew Munro   (Krystina Micucci), Leslie (Kyle) Sanders and Michael Munro, as well as great-grandchildren Drake, Azalea, Isabelle, Zoey, Dessa and Ben. Mom was a kind, gentle soul, a peacemaker, a friend to everyone she knew. She was an artist and creative crafter, a singer, a pretty good Tetris player and she made the best cinnamon buns. She faced the difficulties of the past year with grace and we are proud of how tough she was. A special thank-you to all our friends and family who have blessed us with their prayers and support. To the staff and volunteers on the Palliative Care ward at the Pasqua Hospital and to Palliative Home Care - words cannot express our gratitude for your compassionate care. An informal gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ memory could be made to a children’s charity.
