Obituary of Audrey Norma Gilchrist

Please share a memory of Audrey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Audrey Norma Gilchrist (nee Timmins)
December 22, 1926 – August 29, 2017
Today with sadness we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, but in our hearts we also rejoice that she is now free of all her physical burdens.
She passed peacefully after a brief illness, in her own room, holding her daughters’ hands.  She was looking forward to reuniting with her son Bob, her sister Lenore, her brother Vic and especially to dancing with her husband Ruel, all who have gone on before her. Cherishing her memory are her daughters, Donna Begg (Jim), Karen Kjorven (Don), Paula Miller (Scott), daughter-in-law Joanne Klein (Don), “adopted” son Brian Callele (Lora), “adopted” daughters Cathy & Jill; grandchildren Christopher (Nicole), Jeffrey (Elaine), Shauna (Matt), Thomas (Sharlene), Benjamin, Lee and Cole; 13 precious great-grandchildren; sisters Adrilla and Trudy (Jack); sisters/brother-in-law Jackie, Ethel and Vede (Karen) and many cherished nieces and nephews. Audre was born in Calgary to Edith and Norman Timmins and raised in Edmonton where she met and married her forever love, Ruel, and started their family of four. They moved to Calgary, Regina, and Kinookimaw Beach (Regina Beach) before returning to reside again in Regina. With her beautiful hands she sewed, knitted, painted, baked, cuddled babies and she hugged. Oh how she loved to hug.  She loved everyone, and was loved in return. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Kontsiotis and Susan for years of dedicated care, to the RQHR Home Care for over and above service, and  to Bill Horbach and his entire staff at College Park II Retirement Residence for their phenomenal compassion, love and care as they facilitated mom’s desire to pass in her own home. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Audre’s name to the Red Cross. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
