Obituary of Frank Ellingsen

Francis (Frank) Ellingsen passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024 after contracting COVID.

Frank grew up in Saskatoon in the Sutherland neighbourhood and was always proud of the many friendships that he maintained even after leaving there many years ago.

Frank worked for Federated Co-operatives Limited, in various capacities, for over 25 years. He was always proud to be part of the Co-op Retailing System. Many friendships that were developed through work were maintained after retirement.

After retirement Frank worked at Peavey Mart for several years and again, enjoyed meeting many new fellow employees and customers.

Art was always an important part of Frank’s life, but the most important part of his life was his family and friends.

Frank was pre-deceased by his parents Wilda and Eilif Elllingsen; sister Judy; brother-in-law Norman Schindel; in-laws Helen and Joe Schmitt; and brother-in-law Reg Schmitt.

Frank will be missed by his wife of nearly 52 years, JoAnne; daughter Michele (Adam); very special grandson Elias; sister-in-law Christine Schmitt; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.

Our family wishes to extend a huge thank you to the doctors and nurses in the E.R. at Regina General Hospital and unit 6F for working tirelessly to try and save Frank.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association in memory of Frank and would be greatly appreciated.

A backyard party, that Frank has planned, will be held in Spring 2025. Details will be shared closer to the date.
